The Ethereum Foundation has announced its protocol priorities for 2026, focusing on three main tracks: Scale, Improve UX, and Harden the L1. The Scale track will integrate L1 execution with Blob expansion, while Improve UX will focus on native account abstraction and cross-chain interoperability. Harden the L1 aims to enhance security, censorship resistance, and network resilience. The update includes plans to increase the Gas Limit to 100M and beyond, advance ePBS, and further adjust Blob parameters. It also highlights the development of a zkEVM attester client and work on post-quantum security measures. The next major upgrade, Glamsterdam, is targeted for the first half of 2026, with Hegotá following later in the year.
