The Ethereum Foundation has announced the expansion of its privacy technology initiatives with the establishment of a new "Privacy Cluster" coordinated by Igor Barinov. This cluster comprises 47 researchers and engineers dedicated to the development and deployment of full-stack privacy technologies. The initiative builds on the achievements of the PSE team, supported by the foundation since 2018, which has launched over 50 open-source privacy projects, including Semaphore, MACI, zkEmail, and TLSNotary. Key projects currently under development include Private Reads/Writes and Private Proving for low-cost privacy transactions and verification, zkID and privacy identity tools for selective identity disclosure, the Institutional Privacy Task Force (IPTF) for institutional needs, and Kohaku for building privacy wallets and SDKs.
