Ethereum educator Anthony Sassano revealed that increasing Ethereum's gas limit to 180 million next year is considered a "minimum target," with some core developers discussing a potential fivefold increase. Sassano noted that by repricing transaction costs, such as reducing the base transfer from 21,000 gas to 6,000 gas, the network could support a higher limit after efficiency improvements. Previously, Ethereum raised the gas limit from 45 million to 60 million, marking the start of its scaling efforts, with further enhancements planned alongside Fusaka and Glamsterdam upgrades.
