In a statement issued through his spokesperson, Adams refuted claims of transferring funds from the token, labeling such reports as "false information." The NYC Token, which initially surged to 58 cents before dropping below 10 cents, has raised concerns of a potential "rug pull" scam. Adams clarified that he did not move any investor funds nor benefit financially from the token's launch. The token, marketed as a "community" cryptocurrency, is not affiliated with the New York City government.
