A Dubai court has sentenced a woman to two months in prison for theft after she swapped a hardware crypto wallet during a business meeting, stealing approximately $1 million in digital assets. The court also fined her based on the value of the stolen assets at the time of the crime and ordered her deportation. Following the criminal ruling, a civil court mandated that she pay the victim 4.3 million dirhams (about $1.17 million) plus 5% annual interest. The court affirmed that digital assets are legally protected property. Her husband, identified as a key accomplice, remains at large.
