Funds stolen in the recent Drift hack have been traced to accounts on Backpack, potentially providing key clues through KYC information. On-chain analyst aryan reported that the attacker's address, initially funded via NEAR Intents, remained dormant until a significant transfer from the Drift treasury. The funds were then dispersed to multiple laundering addresses, all receiving funds through Backpack, which is believed to have conducted KYC checks. These laundering addresses subsequently transferred the assets to an Ethereum address via Wormhole, a bridge previously linked to Tornado Cash. The involvement of Backpack accounts, which are subject to KYC verification, could be crucial in identifying the perpetrators behind the hack.
