The total value locked (TVL) in decentralized finance (DeFi) has reached approximately $90 billion, according to CryptoRank data. Ethereum continues to lead with a 58.8% share, equating to about $53.35 billion, marking a slight increase from last year's 57%. Solana holds 7.2% of the TVL, amounting to $6.53 billion, having surpassed TRON in 2024 to become the second-largest chain by TVL.
Other notable contributions include BNB with 6.1%, Bitcoin with 4.8%, TRON with 4.4%, and Base with 4.3%. The Plasma network, launched at the end of 2025, has achieved a TVL of $2.23 billion, representing 2.5% of the total. Arbitrum and Polygon account for 2.2% and 1.2% respectively, while other chains collectively make up 8.5% of the DeFi TVL.
