Coinbase has announced its agreement to acquire Vector.fun, a trading platform within the Solana ecosystem, as revealed by Max Branzburg, Coinbase's Vice President of Product Management. The acquisition is expected to be finalized by the end of the year, though the terms remain undisclosed. Vector.fun, known for its focus on Meme coin trading, will see all 13 of its team members join Coinbase. Post-acquisition, Vector.fun's current application will be discontinued, with its technology integrated into Coinbase's platform. This move aims to enhance Coinbase's decentralized trading capabilities, allowing users to trade Solana ecosystem assets directly through Coinbase, expanding beyond the current limitation of supporting only on-chain trading on the Base chain.
