Coinbase has launched over 100 new USDC-settled contracts across five market segments following its acquisition of crypto options platform Deribit. The expansion includes pre-IPO perpetual contracts, marking the largest perpetual contract rollout in Deribit's history, alongside the first-ever listing of stocks and ETFs as perpetual contracts.
The integration also delivered a new matching engine to upgrade core trading infrastructure, enhancing speed and stability for large-scale trading while maintaining the existing user experience. Additionally, Deribit spot trading is now connected to Coinbase spot liquidity. Coinbase Chief Business Officer Shan Aggarwal stated the integration is progressing well, with further phased updates expected as remaining work continues.
