Chinese AI large models have outpaced their U.S. counterparts in weekly usage for the second consecutive week, according to OpenRouter data. From March 9 to 15, Chinese models recorded a usage volume of 4.69 trillion tokens, marking an 11.83% increase from the previous week. In contrast, U.S. models saw a decline, with usage dropping 9.33% to 3.294 trillion tokens. The top three most-used AI models globally were all Chinese, highlighting the country's growing influence in AI technology. Among these, the newly launched Hunter Alpha model, designed for agent applications, entered the rankings with a usage volume of 0.666 trillion tokens, securing the seventh position. Hunter Alpha, introduced on March 11, boasts trillions of parameters and a 1-million-token context window.
