Authorities have resolved China's largest gold theft case, apprehending the main suspect, Tong, near the China-Vietnam border. The theft involved 27 kilograms of gold valued at over 27 million RMB. After the crime, Tong traveled over 2,000 kilometers south using a ride-hailing service, paying part of the fare with a broken piece of gold. He was captured just 100 meters from the border. Police have arrested all 11 suspects involved and recovered the stolen gold.
