China Asset Management Company (ChinaAMC) has introduced a tokenized money market fund on the Ethereum blockchain, named the ChinaAMC USD Digital Money Market Fund Class I USD (CUMIU). The fund, developed through the Libeara platform, focuses on short-term deposits and high-quality money market instruments. Each token is valued at $100, with a management fee of 0.05%.
The fund has already deployed approximately $502 million, ranking it as the 11th-largest tokenized product by total value. Despite its significant size, only two entities currently hold CUMIU tokens, suggesting a cautious rollout strategy. This launch comes amid regulatory scrutiny in China, where the securities regulator has advised local brokerages to pause real-world asset initiatives in Hong Kong.
