Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has defended the Midnight Network as a crucial tool against centralized digital identity control. In response to concerns from Freedom Train International's Jim Ferguson, Hoskinson highlighted Midnight's ability to preserve privacy and resist centralized oversight, especially amid EU initiatives like the Digital Identity Wallet. Midnight, a privacy-focused sidechain developed by IOG, employs zero-knowledge proofs to enable users to interact with decentralized applications and store data without disclosing their identities. Hoskinson's remarks come after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's call to end online anonymity at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
