Ethereum Foundation has unveiled a new EF Mandate, reaffirming its role as a "steward" within the Ethereum ecosystem. The document highlights the foundation's commitment to core principles such as censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy, and security (CROPS). It prioritizes decentralization, security, and verifiability at the protocol layer, while promoting tools and experiences that enhance user privacy and autonomy at the application layer. Vitalik Buterin stated that Ethereum aims to be a "sanctuary technology" that upholds technological self-sovereignty and prevents single power control over cyberspace.
