Cardano's Chief Technology Officer, Sebastien Guillemot, announced that the Midnight network will achieve quantum-resistant security with the implementation of a unified proof system. This development aims to counter potential threats posed by advancements in NVIDIA's quantum GPU technology. Guillemot highlighted that the cryptographic proof system will safeguard both Midnight and Starstream networks from quantum threats that could potentially compromise Bitcoin and Ethereum. Charles Edwards from Capriole Investments cautioned that Bitcoin might become vulnerable if quantum computers reach 700 qubits. In response to these concerns, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson plans to launch the largest private smart contract by 2026, further bolstering the network's quantum resistance capabilities.
