CME Group has reported a significant increase in its June cryptocurrency futures contracts, with the Average Daily Volume (ADV) rising 76% year-over-year to 334,000 contracts. The notional value of these contracts exceeded $10.7 billion. Micro Bitcoin futures contracts saw a 46% increase in ADV, reaching 77,000 contracts.
In the second quarter, CME's cryptocurrency futures contracts ADV climbed 32% year-over-year to 250,000 contracts, with a notional value of approximately $13.7 billion. Ethereum futures contracts also experienced growth, with ADV increasing by 10% to 18,000 contracts. Overall, CME's June ADV across all contracts set a new record at 30.6 million, marking a 19% increase from the previous year.
