Brevis has upgraded its Pico Prism zkVM, achieving over 99% real-time Ethereum block proof using just 16 RTX 5090 GPUs across two machines. This marks a significant improvement from the previous requirement of 64 GPUs across eight servers, reducing GPU costs from $128,000 to $32,000. The update maintains an average proof time of 6.91 seconds and aligns with the Ethereum Foundation's cost targets for real-time proof infrastructure. The performance boost is attributed to a redesigned dual-machine architecture that eliminates cross-machine data transfers, optimizing GPU utilization. The Ethereum Foundation has concluded its performance competition and is now focusing on building secure infrastructure for L1 zkEVM integration, aiming for 128-bit provable security by the end of 2026. Brevis is working closely with the Foundation to ensure Pico Prism meets the necessary security standards for mainnet deployment.
