Research by Brazilian crypto exchange Mercado Bitcoin reveals that Bitcoin consistently outperforms gold and the S&P 500 index during 60-day windows following major economic or geopolitical shocks. Following the Trump administration's announcement of large-scale tariffs last year, Bitcoin rose 24% in 60 days, compared to gold's 8% and the S&P 500's 4% increase. During the early 2020 pandemic period, Bitcoin gained 21%. Currently, amid the US-Iran conflict, Bitcoin is the only asset among the three to record positive returns.
