Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) emphasized that cryptocurrencies remain in their early stages during a Q&A session marking the fifth anniversary of BNB Chain. CZ highlighted that liquidity and user growth require time to develop, drawing parallels to Bitcoin's early days when it traded below $100 with poor liquidity and daily volatility reaching 60%. Despite increased media coverage, cryptocurrencies are still considered niche assets. CZ noted that in a random sample of 100 people, only seven or eight might own cryptocurrencies, with these holdings typically representing less than 1% of their asset portfolios. He concluded that the industry must build liquidity and user bases gradually, with appropriate investment at the right time.
