Spain's Bankinter has acquired a minority stake in the cryptocurrency exchange Bit2Me, participating in a €30 million funding round completed in August 2025. The round also saw participation from Tether, a stablecoin issuer. This investment adds Bankinter to Bit2Me's list of banking shareholders, which includes BBVA, Unicaja, and Cecabank. Bit2Me, headquartered in Madrid, is one of the first companies to register under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, enabling it to operate across the EU.
