Balancer said it has sent on-chain messages to wallets linked to the August 31 Balancer V1 exploit, offering a path to return the stolen funds in exchange for a bounty. The protocol said it would not pursue legal action for the return itself if its conditions are met.
The team set a deadline of 5:00 AM Beijing time on September 9 for a response. If the attacker does not engage by then, Balancer said it will pursue technical, on-chain, and legal measures to track those responsible. The incident caused an estimated loss of about $234,000 and followed a previously disclosed vulnerability in Balancer's legacy V1 contract that could allow LP funds to be drained.
