Ethereum privacy Layer 2 network Aztec has launched its Tierra upgrade (Alpha V6), fixing a critical vulnerability discovered in the previous V5 version. The update introduces AI-driven security testing tools and formal verification for core cryptographic components.
Performance improvements include proof generation times of approximately one second on standard devices—a twofold speed increase—and message passing from Ethereum to Aztec reduced from an average of two minutes to as fast as 12 seconds. The network currently operates with over 3,000 validators.
Several privacy applications went live alongside the upgrade, including zk.money, Galactica, Nemi, Nulo, and Rolling Chat. Aztec previously raised $17 million in funding.
