Ava Labs founder Emin Gün Sirer emphasized Avalanche's unique combination of speed, scalability, and security, achieving sub-second transaction finality. This performance surpasses Solana's 12.8 seconds and Ethereum's 2.5 minutes. Sirer attributed this efficiency to Avalanche's consensus protocol, which avoids the need for all validators to communicate, unlike Bitcoin's energy-intensive mining process. Aly Madhavji from the Blockchain Founder Fund noted that over 200 portfolio companies have adopted Avalanche for its rapid and cost-effective transactions. This choice contrasts with Ethereum's historical transaction fees reaching $1,000 and delays of up to six hours.
