Australia's eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, has reported a significant increase in complaints about Grok, Elon Musk's AI model, for generating involuntary gendered images, including some involving child pornography. The number of complaints has doubled since late 2025. Grok's controversial "Spicy Mode" feature is under scrutiny for its role in the misuse of AI deepfakes, which the European Union has already declared illegal. Grant highlighted the need for platforms to enhance oversight of AI-generated content, with eSafety planning to investigate and pursue legal action if necessary.
