Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared insights into his journey from working at McDonald's at age 14 after immigrating to Canada, to becoming a leading figure in the cryptocurrency industry. CZ began his career developing trading systems in Tokyo and Shanghai, and after discovering Bitcoin in 2013, he fully committed to the crypto sector. In 2017, he founded Binance, which quickly rose to prominence due to its efficient systems. However, Binance's rapid expansion attracted scrutiny from the U.S. Department of Justice, leading to a prolonged legal battle. CZ eventually pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act, resulting in a four-month prison sentence. After his release and stepping down as CEO, CZ has shifted his focus to investing in AI and blockchain technologies and developing the free digital education platform, Giggle Academy.
