April has set a new record for the highest number of hacking incidents in cryptocurrency history, according to DefiLlama. CertiK Alert reports that various incidents in April resulted in approximately $651 million in losses due to exploit attacks, with phishing accounting for about $3.5 million of this total. Excluding the Bybit incident in February 2025, April marks the highest recorded losses since March 2022, when losses reached approximately $715 million.
