Anthropic has unveiled the results of Phase Two of "Project Fetch," showcasing the advanced capabilities of its Claude Opus 4.7 model in robotic manipulation tasks. Conducted in August 2025, the experiment involved Anthropic employees, who are not robotics experts, using off-the-shelf quadruped robots to complete complex tasks. The performance was compared between scenarios where the Claude models assisted and where tasks were completed solely by humans using the internet. The findings reveal that the Claude Opus 4.7 model, operating autonomously, achieved significantly faster task completion times, with a speed improvement of at least 10 times compared to the human team. This marks a substantial advancement in the application of AI models in real-world robotics, highlighting the potential for enhanced efficiency in automated processes.
