Anthropic has released its first official development guide for optimizing agent control in Claude 4.6 and Opus 4.7. The guide details resolution limits, thought depth ratios, and caching cost-reduction mechanisms for these models in computer and browser control scenarios. Claude 4.6 supports a maximum resolution of 1,568 pixels, while Opus 4.7 supports up to 2,576 pixels. Developers are advised to pre-scale screenshots to 1280x720 for Claude 4.6 and 1080p for Opus 4.7 to prevent misalignment issues. The guide recommends setting thought depth to "high" to reduce token consumption by half while maintaining success rates. It also introduces a three-tier cost-reduction strategy, including maintaining system-level cache checkpoints and performing scroll pruning. Additionally, the API now supports batch operations and an Advisor Tool mechanism for enhanced task execution. Teach Mode is suggested for improving task success rates by recording user operations for instructional playback.
