This move comes as Persona faces scrutiny after a data leak exposed Discord users' verification data, prompting Discord to distance itself from the company. Additionally, a Mashable investigation revealed that LinkedIn users' data verified through Persona could be shared with up to 17 companies. The identity verification incident is separate from recent issues with age verification, where users were incorrectly flagged as minors by Claude, leading to account suspensions. This process used Yoti, not Persona, and occurred around April 12, according to user reports on Reddit.
