Akash Network has announced plans to deprecate its proprietary Cosmos SDK chain, initiating a search for a new network to enhance security and maintain IBC compatibility. Founder Greg Osuri highlighted the importance of strong security, community quality, liquidity, and growth potential in the new network, while ensuring integration with platforms like Osmosis and Keplr. Although no timeline has been set, a request for proposals will be released soon, with Solana mentioned as a strong candidate.
Additionally, Akash Network plans to introduce Nvidia GPUs in its Mainnet 6 by 2023, aiming to provide decentralized computing power at reduced costs. The staking mechanism is also set to evolve beyond consensus security, according to Osuri.
