An AI agent named Lobstar Wilde, operating a Solana wallet, mistakenly sent 52.4 million LOBSTAR tokens, valued between $250,000 and $441,000, to a random address on February 22. The error, caused by a coding failure, was intended to be a $400 donation but resulted in a significant transfer of 5% of the total token supply. Despite the loss, the LOBSTAR token price surged 190% as the community embraced the incident as "agentic risk." The recipient of the tokens attempted to liquidate them but faced heavy slippage, managing to secure only $40,000. Further compounding the loss, the recipient invested $25,000 into a new token, which quickly lost value, leaving them with just $6,000. Meanwhile, the LOBSTAR project's market cap rose to $12 million, highlighting the unpredictable nature of crypto markets.
