Aave's governance delegation platform, Aave Chan Initiative (ACI), has proposed halting deployments on the Layer 2 networks zkSync Era, Metis, and Soneium. The proposal cites minimal user activity, total value locked (TVL), and revenue from these networks as reasons for the suspension. Current TVL figures are approximately $26 million for zkSync, $17 million for Soneium, and $9 million for Metis, with respective revenues of $714, $679, and $150 over the past 30 days. In contrast, Aave generated over $7.7 million in revenue on the Ethereum mainnet and nearly $300,000 on Base during the same period. ACI also suggests that future chain deployments should ensure at least $2 million in annual revenue to justify the associated costs. Voting on this proposal has already commenced.
