Aave founder Stani addressed concerns regarding Aave V4's market structure, confirming the protocol has already attracted approximately $1.2 billion in deposits across Ethereum, Avalanche, and Arc networks. The updated version supports third-party curators such as EtherFi and features a significantly smaller codebase compared to Aave V3.
Stani explained that V4 utilizes a Hub and Spoke model where markets are isolated by default based on risk profiles, yet those with similar risk can share liquidity through the Hub to improve capital efficiency. This architecture allows Spokes to access existing Hub liquidity directly rather than building it from scratch, avoiding the fragmentation, lower utilization rates, and higher user costs associated with fully isolated liquidity models.
