Strategy has released its “Bitcoin Investor Guide,” covering Bitcoin’s monetary properties, investment value, market structure, portfolio role, custody methods and associated risks. The guide says Bitcoin is evolving from an early speculative asset into a foundational asset for digital capital markets as institutional access and market infrastructure improve.
As of September 4, BTC traded at about $79,809, roughly 23.3% above its 200-week moving average of $64,715. Bitcoin’s one-year return was approximately -28.3%, while its 10-year annualized return was about 62.8%. Average 30-day trading volume stood at about $28.3 billion, open interest at approximately $96 billion, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs held roughly 1.27 million BTC, and network hashrate reached about 935 EH/s.
Strategy warned that Bitcoin remains a highly volatile asset with no promise of principal repayment. It also outlined operational, legal and counterparty risks associated with self-custody, third-party custody, exchange-traded products and derivatives. The company disclosed that it holds a significant amount of Bitcoin and therefore has a financial interest linked to BTC’s price. The guide is for educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice.
