OpenAI's personal agent Dot now supports task assignment via iMessage and RCS text messages, allowing users to send instructions through text, images, or voice memos. The agent will also proactively update users on task progress via messaging. The feature is currently rolling out in preview to Pro users in the U.S. and is limited exclusively to conversations between users and their own Dot instance — neither Dot nor OpenAI can access other text message threads. OpenAI launched the Dot personal agent in late September.
