Bitcoin mining pool OCEAN has formally ended support for the BIP-110 fork chain, citing limited mining activity and the shift to the Blake2b proof-of-work mechanism. The pool said it will neither adopt nor support the BIP-110 hard fork and will stop paying BIP-110 block rewards.
The BIP-110 chain stalled after the Aug. 8 user-activated soft fork attempt failed. OCEAN said post-fork mining rewards became unusable because they did not reach 100 confirmations, adding that those rewards are now “permanently frozen” at BIP-110 block 961,639. Miners seeking to continue supporting BIP-110 have been directed to CONVOY Mining, which plans to support the Blake2b hard fork and continue BIP-110 share records.
