Crypto technology service provider Haruko suffered a cyberattack earlier this week that compromised data for 15 institutional clients, with reports indicating some small hedge funds may have lost assets. The security breach exposed client read-only API information and exchange trading data. The incident occurred because Haruko utilized bare-metal servers instead of cloud services like AWS that offer enhanced security protections. The company stated it has since patched the vulnerability and updated all server-side keys to prevent further unauthorized access.
