Authorities in France's Bas-Rhin region have arrested five individuals following a failed kidnapping and extortion attempt targeting a cryptocurrency holder. The incident, which occurred on May 11 in the town of Ottrott, was reportedly linked to a leak of cryptocurrency transaction data. The Saverne prosecutor's office has charged the suspects with attempted organized extortion, attempted kidnapping, illegal detention, and aggravated violence.
