The FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) reported over 13,400 complaints related to cryptocurrency ATM fraud in 2025, with losses surpassing $388 million. This marks a 23% rise in complaints and a 58% increase in financial losses compared to the previous year. Notably, individuals aged 50 and older accounted for more than half of the complaints, suffering losses exceeding $302 million. Cryptocurrency ATMs, which facilitate cash-to-crypto exchanges, have been exploited by criminals to deceive victims into transferring funds.
