SignalHire estimates eBay's China R&D center employs between 500 and 1,000 people. Public social security records show its technical entity, eBay Software Engineering (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., had 611 insured employees in 2025, while Shanghai eBay Network Information Service Co., Ltd. reported 118 insured employees, and eBay Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. listed 189 employees in 2024.
