Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announced he is personally writing a new programming language for the Cardano blockchain, collaborating with Lucas Rosa, a software engineer at Input Output Global who co-created Aiken. Hoskinson described the language as the first to combine transaction intents with cryptographic proof that rules were followed. The language will support three core tools: transaction intents, proof-carrying data, and Groth16 proofs. Transaction intents allow users to declare desired outcomes while leaving execution steps to applications — for example, a trader could request a token swap only if final price conditions are met without specifying the path. Proof-carrying data attaches cryptographic evidence to information, enabling other apps to verify compliance without re-executing underlying calculations.
