Derivatives markets presented a contrasting signal as perpetual futures taker flow swung to heavy net selling of -$261.5 million and long-side funding payments dropped 53%. While futures open interest rose 2.1% to $38.9 billion and options open interest increased 4.1% to $44.4 billion, the fading long bias suggests traders are taking profits into the current price range.
On-chain metrics confirm sustained capital inflows with entity-adjusted transfer volume surging 22% to $6.9 billion and monthly realized cap change holding above statistical high bands. Profitability remains stretched as 74% of supply sits in profit and the realized profit-to-loss ratio jumped 79.6%, indicating significant gain realization alongside fresh capital entry.
