Berkshire Hathaway CEO Greg Abel said rising Japanese government bond yields have not become a fundamental challenge for the major Japanese trading companies in which the firm holds stakes. He said Japan's 10-year government bond yield hit a 30-year high this week, but the situation remains manageable for those businesses.
Abel added that Japanese yields are still relatively moderate in absolute terms and remain low compared with other global bond yields, despite reaching multi-decade highs. He also said Berkshire still expects to issue yen-denominated debt when appropriate.
