Chinese equities closed sharply lower on October 29 as the ChiNext Index dropped 4.45% and the STAR Market index fell more than 4%, while the Shanghai Composite declined 0.82%. Combined turnover across the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges reached 1.56 trillion yuan, down 72 billion yuan from the previous session, with over 4,700 stocks posting losses.
