X blocked a large-scale password recovery attack this week targeting hundreds of thousands of users, according to a post on the platform by Attorney General Todd Blanche. The attack was aimed at hijacking user accounts, but the platform said it successfully prevented the effort.
The Department of Justice is now working closely with X to identify and track down the cybercriminals behind the campaign.
