Standard Chartered has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of Zodia Custody, the digital asset custodian it previously established through its venture capital arm SC Ventures. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.
Under the deal structure, Zodia Custody's custody operations will be fully integrated into Standard Chartered's banking business. Meanwhile, the company's software division will be spun off into an independent entity backed by SC Ventures, separating the technology component from the regulated custody function.
