Russia's central bank has finalized rules permitting trading platforms to offer Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT to retail investors, effective November 17. Non-qualified investors will be capped at purchasing 300,000 rubles (approximately $3,700) in cryptocurrency annually through each intermediary, while qualified investors face no such limits. All investors must pass a mandatory test before executing trades. The services can be provided by brokers, asset management firms, and crypto trading service providers. The Moscow Exchange plans to launch cryptocurrency trading on December 1. Additionally, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency transactions between individuals will be prohibited starting July 1, 2027.
