The Polish Parliament has approved a new cryptocurrency regulation law to comply with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) requirements, with implementation expected by July. This legislative move comes as Poland investigates the collapse of its largest crypto exchange, Zondacrypto, which has left users facing losses exceeding 350 million zlotys (approximately $95.9 million).
Prime Minister Donald Tusk has accused the exchange of being linked to "Russian mafia funds" and warned of potential political infiltration risks. Zondacrypto's founder, Sylwester Suszek, has been missing since 2022, and his successor is reportedly in Israel.
