Hyperliquid has received its first payment of $14.58 million in USDC from the AQAv2 treasury wallet, compensating the platform for USDC reserves held over the past 30 days. The funds will be allocated to an aid fund designated for purchasing HYPE tokens. This establishes a new revenue stream allowing the protocol to earn yield on user deposits independently of trading activity. From January 1 to September 30, Hyperliquid recorded $2 trillion in perpetual contract trading volume and generated $493.3 million in protocol fees, while open interest grew from $7.72 billion to $16.4 billion. The introduction of deposit yield via AQAv2 contributes approximately $0.028 per dollar of margin annually, adding to the $0.125 generated from trading fees. Projections estimate annual protocol revenue could reach $2.4 billion by the end of 2030.
