Christopher Giancarlo, the former Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has joined Jefferies Financial Group Inc. as a senior advisor. Known as the "Crypto Dad" for his supportive stance on digital assets, Giancarlo will focus on investment banking at Jefferies. During his CFTC tenure, he played a pivotal role in the launch of Bitcoin futures contracts by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and CME Group Inc., and advocated for the self-certification of Bitcoin derivatives.
